Dr. John Heflin, Dr. John Smith, and Dr. Marcella Woiczik have been working together for over ten years at the University of Utah, as academic Pediatric Orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Heflin began his practice in 2011, Dr. Smith in 1990, and Dr. Woiczik in 2008, dedicating their careers to the care of pediatric orthopedic patients in Utah and the Intermountain West. They provided comprehensive surgical care at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Salt Lake City, as well as Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital. They have been educating the medical community, including resident and fellow physicians, advancing research, and collaborating with national and international surgeons to facilitate the highest quality of treatment for their patients and families.

In 2023, these three surgeons decided to make significant personal and professional changes, endeavoring to expand pediatric orthopedic evaluation and management to the Wasatch Back, at the Intermountain Park City Hospital. They are now members of The Orthopedic Partners (formerly Rosenberg Cooley Metcalf) orthopedic group, which has been offering exceptional, innovative treatment since 1998.
